	Ducted or Recirculated Mode? Ducted Mode - Cooking odours are extracted at their source and channelled directly outside. Recirculation Mode - Air is drawn up into the appliance and cleaned as it passes through a series of filters, after which it is channelled back into the room. Please remember that a Carbon Filter or a Recirculating Kit is required for recirculation. These can be purchased along with your cooker hood, found at the end of each cooker hood section.


	4 Steps to Choose the Perfect Extraction Strength For Your Kitchen. As a guidline, the air in the room should be changed 6 times per hour. 1.Calculate floor area in square metres and multiply by the height of the room in metres. 2. Divide the maximum extraction rate (not free-blowing) of the hood selected by the figure calculated in step 1. 3.The Resulting Figure Should be at Least 7, but Preferably as Close to 12 as Possible. 4. To Avoid Excessive Noise, Try to Choose A Model Which Meets the Above Requirements on an Intermediate Speed rather than at the Highest Speed.


	Hose Connection. Maximum recommended ducting length up to 5m, deducting 1.2m for every 90 degree bend. Ducting is available generally in three main diameters, 100mm, 120mm and 150mm. Generally the bigger the ducting the better the performance. Reducing the ducting size adversely affects both the rate of extraction and the noise level.
