Choosing the right bathroom suite components (Part 1)

August 17, 2010
Posted in Bathroom Design — Written by Becky

A number of different components make up a bathroom suite. You must pay attention to all of these items when you are looking to redecorate or completely renovate your bathroom. Designing a successful bathroom is about prioritising the items that view as essential and making the very best use of the space that is available to you in the room.

The following items generally make up a complete bathroom suite. It is up to you to decide which you need and which you can go without.

Baths

Depending on what you have in the rest of your home, you may not need a bath in the bathroom you are renovating. Many houses can survive with just a single bath so smaller bathrooms or en suites needn’t have them. If you really enjoy having a bath every now and again then you shouldn’t sacrifice a bath unit completely. You can get rectangular baths, corner baths and freestanding baths depending on the layout of the room and your own personal tastes.

Basins

It is unlikely that you will be able to go without a basin in your bathroom. These give you a place to wash and carry out the most basic parts of your daily routine in the room. Placing your basin in a washstand is a really good way of incorporating storage-related bathroom furniture into your bathroom suite.
